So How Does One Get Free Traffic and Ranked on Google?

So how does one get free traffic to a website and ranked on Google? I have just spent the last month trying to find out the answer to this million dollar question...After taking keyword tutorials, courses on free traffic, reading Google interviews, loading time checkers, and reading about Google Adsense Millionaires my head is spinning.

Let me start from the beginning. I wanted a part-time business that I could do from home, sounds easy enough, Right? I figured I have been in business over 25 years, working at home for more than a dozen of them. I had the perfect idea for a website. Therefore, I wanted to create an information site. I gave myself a new title "Infopreneur" (I had heard it somewhere and thought it sounded cool).

So, I went to work building my website. When it was finished, I knew it was perfect. I had the big launch party, cracked the champagne and waited for my first click...And waited...And waited...Then I got a hit...I immediately checked my real time tracker and they had only stayed a second, which was very disappointing. Well after about a week, I had had 5 visitors. What was wrong? Was it my website? It couldn't be, it was perfect.

Next, I went on my computer and started researching. I was amazed at the cyber verbage. It was like a foreign language. Anyway, I figured out what I needed was traffic. So, I looked up on the internet "how to get internet traffic." I found over 74 million pages on "how to get internet traffic" YIKES!!!. There was free traffic, free Internet traffic, traffic tips, free web traffic, free traffic methods, how blogs help create traffic to websites, free traffic forums, free traffic links. My head was pounding by now. No longer was my head spinning, but turning into this incredible pounding headache due to cyber verbage overload. All that I kept thinking was that I just wanted a little info site to make a little extra cash.

Taking a big deep breath, I decided "how to get ranked on a search engine" I found over 31 million pages this time. So I started reading. There were websites on how to appear on Google, rss feed for Google traffic, Alexa tricks, lucrative keywords, keyword generators, viral marketing and on and on and on it went...So now holding my head, I reach for the bottle of Advil and wash them down with Extra Strength Mylanta. Still thinking, I just wanted a little info website that people would visit and put my business knowledge to good use. Perhaps they may purchase items through one of my reputable affiliate links.

No one ever told me I would need to be a Google scholar or that I would need to know how to get Googlebot spidering to my website. A month ago, I had no clue about the Yahoo backdoor, rss feeds, voip beta, traffic equalizers, noogle, (noggle??) Google Millionaires, and free pod casts... What kind of word is Google anyway???? Well, whatever...

Needless to say, it has been very interesting and educational. I have learned, that I need lucrative keywords, direct meta tags, unique content, to be listed in directories. It can take up to twelve weeks for Yahoo and Google spiders to crawl a website.
